Mark Brown receives Superior Service honor from AgriLife Extension

COLLEGE STATION – Mark Brown, Texas AgriLife Extension Service agent for agriculture and natural resources in Lubbock County, has been awarded AgriLife Extension’s Superior Service award in the distinguished career category.

Brown has served agriculture on the southern High Plains for more than 25 years, first by managing the Crosby/Floyd counties integrated pest management program from 1986 until 1993 and then in his current job.

Through the years, he has worked with producers, committees and other agencies to provide timely educational program to address the critical issues facing residents of the South Plains.

Areas of work Brown has been recognized for include agricultural irrigation efficiency, urban landscape water conservation, agricultural awareness among adult and youth audiences, cotton production, and sound integrated pest management and environmental management practices.

The Superior Service award is one of the highest honors presented by AgriLife Extension.
