EAGLE LAKE – The 37th annual field day at the David R. Wintermann Rice Research Station will be June 28.
The station is 3 miles northwest of Eagle Lake on Farm-to-Market Road 102.
The field tours will be from 4-5 p.m. and will include varietal improvement, insect management, soil testing, weed management and herbicide updates.
The evening program will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center with Dr. Joe Outlaw, Texas AgriLife Extension Service economist, discussing farm policy development. Steve Balas, Lower Colorado River Authority board member, will talk about water issues.
Texas Department of Agriculture licensed private, commercial, and non-commercial pesticide applicators participating in the field day may obtain two general continuing education units toward recertification.
