Schulze named new assistant vice chancellor of administration

COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M AgriLife announced that Steve Schulze has been appointed assistant vice chancellor of administration.

Currently serving as chief human resources officer and director of special projects, Schulze will be succeeded  in that position by Jennifer Humphries. Both appointments will be effective Feb. 1. Humphries currently serves as director of human resource services for Texas A&M AgriLife.

“We are extremely pleased to have Steve and Jennifer take on these crucial roles,” said Dr. Mark A. Hussey, vice chancellor and dean for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. “Both are experienced and familiar with our operations and have clearly demonstrated their talents and abilities to take on these new responsibilities.”

As assistant vice chancellor of administration, Schulze will provide leadership to all AgriLife administrative functions, including financial and support services, human resources, and procurement and contracts. His appointment follows the previously announced retirement of Johnny Fazzino, who has returned to help build a risk management and compliance office.

Prior to serving as chief human resources officer at Texas A&M AgriLife, Schulze served as assistant agency director of human resources for The Agriculture Program, and associate human resources officer at Texas AgriLife Research. Schulze earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas A&M University in 1986.

Humphries has 20 years of experience in her field. A certified professional in human resources, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business

administration and a master’s degree in human resource management from Texas A&M University.
