“This program will be of interest to people wanting to know more about water harvesting for home and general use,” said Travis Helm, AgriLife Extension agent for agriculture and natural resources, Real County. “We’ll have agency specialists in water management and a Real County Master Gardener making presentations, including a live demonstration of how to assemble an inexpensive rain barrel for a basic home rainwater collection system.”
He said other topics will include an introduction to rainwater harvesting, discussion of potential uses for collected rainwater and how to run collected rainwater into the home.
The cost for the program is $10. Space is limited, and attendees are requested to preregister through the AgriLife Extension office in Real County before noon April 3.
