HYE – The third annual Hill Country Vineyard Field Day, presented by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, will be held May 23 at the William Chris Vineyard.
The vineyard is located at 10352 U.S. Highway 290 in Hye.
“This event is planned for commercial wine-grape growers, wine makers and those interested in the wine industry,” said Penny Adams, AgriLife Extension viticulture adviser, Hill County. “It’s an opportunity for participants to gather for a day of learning, information-sharing, networking and camaraderie. We appreciate that the William Chris Vineyard has agreed to host this year’s event.”
Adams said the field day will begin at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 3 p.m.
“Topics to be addressed through field demonstrations and discussion will include an update on cotton root rot research, moisture monitoring and irrigation scheduling,” she said.
Vineyard supply and equipment companies will be on hand to talk with participants, and a bring-your-own wine reception will follow field day activities, Adams noted.
Registration is $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
