EAGLE LAKE – June 26 will be the 38th annual field day at the David R. Wintermann Rice Research Station, three miles northwest of Eagle Lake on Farm-to-Market 102.

Field tours at the research station will be from 4-5 p.m. Tours of the facility will include varietal improvement, insect management, disease management, weed management and herbicide updates.

The evening program will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center with

Dr. Joe Outlaw, Texas AgriLife Extension Service economist, discussing farm policy development. In addition, Steve Balas, Lower Colorado River Authority Board of Directors, will talk about water issues.

Licensed private, commercial and non-commercial pesticide applicators participating in this field day tour may obtain continuing education credits for recertification.
