COLLEGE STATION –Texas AgriLife Extension Service helped folks all over the state learn how to grow vegetables for sale in local farmers markets. National Farmers Market Week is begins Aug. 5.

There was a 9.6 percent increase nationally over last year’s count, according to U.S. Deputy Agriculture Secretary Kathleen Merrigan in a news conference Aug. 3.
