SAN ANTONIO — Growing a fall vegetable garden will be the subject of two upcoming Backyard Gardening programs being offered by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service for Bexar County.
The first program, “Growing a Fall Vegetable Garden – Part 1,” will be presented from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Aug. 27. The second, “Growing a Fall Vegetable Garden – Part 2,” will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Sept. 17.
Both programs will be held in Suite 208 of the AgriLife Extension office for Bexar County, located in the Conroy Square office complex, 3355 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio.
“These two programs together will address what I call the ‘Four Ps’ of successful vegetable gardening,” said David Rodriguez, AgriLife Extension agent for horticulture in Bexar County. “The first program will cover planning and preparation, which are the foundation for successful fall vegetable gardens. The second program will cover purchase of plant materials and plant maintenance, which are the other essentials needed to ensure your fall vegetable garden will be productive.”
The cost is $10 for each program, payable at the door. Checks should be made payable to Texas A&M AgriLife.
