COLLEGE STATION — Pierre Ferrari, CEO of the philanthropic and international development organization Heifer International, will be the guest lecturer for two events at Texas A&M University this week.
He will be the guest lecturer for a Borlaug Seminar Series from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14 and the keynoter for the Blue Bell Lecture Series from 10:30–11:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 15. The seminars are free to the public and will take place at the AgriLife Center, 600 John Kimbrough Blvd., College Station. Refreshments will be served.
At the first lecture, Ferrari’s talk on “Passing on the Gift” will include initiatives and the collaborations that allow the organization to continue its fight against global hunger and poverty. His topic for the second lecture is “The world as an opportunity to serve.”
His lectures are hosted by Texas A&M’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture.
Ferrari also serves on the board of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream, where he was instrumental in the company’s global commitment to fair trade with vanilla, cocoa and coffee farmers. The former marketer for Coca-Cola USA is also a board member of the Small Enterprise Assistance Fund and an investor and director of Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products.
He holds a master’s degree in economics from The University of Cambridge and a master of business administration from Harvard Business School.
