DENTON – The Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Denton County and the Denton County Extension Equine Committee will hold an equine parasite and fly control seminar from 6-8 p.m. April 22 at the Joseph A. Carroll Building, 401 W. Hickory, Suite 115, Denton.
Dr. Sonja Swiger, AgriLife Extension livestock/veterinary entomologist, Stephenville, will discuss internal and external parasite and nuisance fly control, said Brandon Boughen, AgriLife Extension agent for Denton County.
The registration fee is $15 and RSVP’s must be received by April 17.
“Horse owners know that biting flies and parasites are more than just a nuisance — they can cause real problems,” Boughen said. “Horse owners are good about deworming their horses on a regular schedule, but we want to make sure they are using a good rotation of dewormer so as to not cause resistance build up.”
