STERLING CITY – The continuing dry weather has prompted the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Sterling County to set a rainwater harvesting and drought-tolerant landscape workshop from 6-8 p.m. May 27 at the Sterling County Community Center in Sterling City.
“Even here in West Texas where we expect dry weather, many of us are beginning to wonder if it ever will rain again,” said Chad Coburn, AgriLife Extension agent in Sterling County. “The ongoing drought has prompted us to schedule this workshop to demonstrate the right way to make a rain barrel for catching rainwater when it does decide to rain again.
“Allison Watkins, AgriLife Extension horticulturist for Tom Green County, will be our featured speaker. Allison will also share her secrets on developing a beautiful, but water-stingy landscape that’s tailor-made for surviving and thriving during these ongoing dry times.”
Individual registration is $15 due upon arrival.
