SAN ANGELO – The Concho Valley Pond Management Workshop conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is set for 6-8:30 p.m. July 7 at the Tom Green County 4-H Building.
The workshop will address pond management during extreme conditions, restocking and aquatic vegetation management, said Josh Blanek, AgriLife Extension agent in Tom Green County.
Dr. Todd Sink, AgriLife Extension fisheries specialist at College Station, will be the evening’s key presenter, Blanek said.
“It’s hard to manage ponds in West Texas due to our extreme weather conditions,” Blanek said. “One day your pond is critically low, then with timely rainfall, the next day it may be full. Dr. Sink is going to cover management strategies identifying these problems and offer proven techniques to help cope with them.”
Individual registration is $10 due upon arrival.
