AMARILLO – Amy Wagner has been hired as the new family and consumer sciences agent for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Randall County and will begin Oct. 1. She currently holds a similar position in Potter County.
Wagner began her AgriLife Extension career in 2006 when she was named the family and consumer science agent in Oldham County. In 2012, she moved to Potter County, according to Brandon Dukes, AgriLife Extension district administrator in Amarillo.
“Amy is an outstanding AgriLife Extension professional who has a proven track record as a skilled educator and effective communicator,” Dukes said. “The Cooking with Friends program, which Amy developed, has garnered statewide recognition and national attention. The knowledge and skills she brings to Randall County will further strengthen what is already an outstanding Extension program.”
“I am excited about this move,” Wagner said. “I am looking forward to providing educational programs for youth and adults in Randall County.”
Prior to moving to Texas, Wagner worked in Portales, New Mexico, as a nutrition educator for the New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension.
She is a native of Cimarron, New Mexico. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University and her master’s degree from New Mexico State University.
