SWEETWATER – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has named Labeth Carter the new family and consumer sciences agent for Nolan County.
The announcement was made by Nolan County Judge Tim Fambrough and Marty Gibbs, AgriLife Extension district administrator at San Angelo.
Gibbs said Carter, who began her new assignment Dec. 1, is headquartered in the AgriLife Extension office in Nolan County, located at 100 E. 3rd St., Suite 305 in Sweetwater.
Carter is responsible for all of AgriLife Extension’s family and consumer sciences endeavors in the county, Gibbs said.
“We are excited to have Labeth join us here in the 23-county West Central District,” Gibbs said. “She brings to this position a wealth of practical family and consumer sciences-related teaching and academic skills. Coming from an active 4-H family and as a former county agent in two West Texas counties, Labeth already knows the workings of our agency and many of the people she will be working with. This should be a smooth transition not only for her, but for Nolan County as well.”
Carter who is from Garza County, earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University and is currently completing a master’s of education, also from Texas Tech.
Prior to assuming her Nolan County assignment, Carter served as the AgriLife Extension family and consumer sciences agent for Gaines County and Midland County. She also has previous experience working at various grade levels within the Snyder, Midland, Post and Lamesa independent school districts.
