COLLEGE STATION – Brazos Valley horse owners can take part in a Jan. 27 program at the Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM ’56 Equine Complex at Texas A&M University in College Station that will focus on horse health.
The event will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. and is free for those who register by Jan. 23 or $10 after and at the door. Seating is limited to the first 150 registrants. To register, call 979-823-0129.
Admission will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a light dinner served. Presentations follow at 6 p.m.
“We will have four stations on a wide variety of information pertaining to horse health,” said Dusty Tittle, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agent for Brazos County.
Station One will feature a veterinary emergency team led by Dr. Wesley Bissett, veterinarian for large animal clinical service with the Texas A&M Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Station Two will feature Dr. Larry Redmon, AgriLife Extension state forage specialist, whol discuss hay quality and pasture management.
Station Three will be led by Kindra Radar, technician III with the Texas A&M Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, discussing equine reproduction at Texas A&M.
A tour of the Texas A&M equine complex will also be part of the program. Three hours of continuing education units will be available upon request. The program is organized by the Brazos Horse Committee of the AgriLife Extension Brazos County office.
