FORT STOCKTON – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct the Pecos County Spring Garden Workshop from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. March 26 in the Small Community Hall, 201 S. Rooney St. in Fort Stockton.
“March is certainly coming in like a lion this year, but I suspect the spring garden season will be here before we know it,” said David Disselhorst, AgriLife Extension agent in Pecos County. “So the idea behind this workshop is to prepare area gardeners for spring, so they’re all set and ready to go before the weather gets too hot, as we all know it will be soon enough.”
Individual registration is $10, due upon arrival. For more information and to RSVP by March 23, call the AgriLife Extension office in Pecos County at 432-336-2541.
Topics and speakers will include:
– Varieties, Care and Management of Pecan and Fruit Trees Adaptable to the Trans-Pecos, Monte Nesbitt, AgriLife Extension pecan, fruit and citrus program specialist, College Station.
– Roses 101, Frank Wells, American Rose Society certified consulting rosarian, Odessa.
