SAN ANTONIO – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Bexar County Master Gardeners and Bexar County Youth Gardens will present the Art in the Garden program for children ages 5-8 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. June 11 in San Antonio.
The program will be held at the AgriLife Extension office for Bexar County, Suite 208 of the Conroy Square office complex, 3355 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio.
“Children who participate in the program will learn about plants, insects and other garden life as well as how to create their own garden art,” said Ruby Zavala, AgriLife Extension youth gardens program coordinator for Bexar County. “They will see how plants are grown and what they need to live, as well as learn about how vegetables provide us with valuable nutrients.”
Zavala said some of their arts and crafts activities may include making a terrarium or wind chime, plus painting decorative rocks for the garden.
The cost is $20. For more information or to register, email Zavala at Ruby.Zavala@ag.tamu.edu.
