LUBBOCK – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Lubbock is partnering with Texas Tech University’s department of plant and soil science to conduct their second annual Turfgrass Field Day July 13 in Lubbock.
The event will start with registration at 7 a.m. followed by the program from 8 a.m.-noon at the Texas Tech Quaker Research Farm located at 200 N. Quaker Ave.
“This year’s field day will target both novice and professional residential and commercial lawn care operators as well as golf course and athletic field managers,” said Vikram Baliga, AgriLife Extension horticulturist in Lubbock County. “We’re also offering two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units regardless of which licensing track is followed.
“This will be a great opportunity to learn about new management techniques and technologies for turf management and water conservation. So we’re looking forward to the free event and having everyone join us for a great morning of education and lunch.”

– Plant growth regulators.
– Herbicide resistance.
– Fraze mowing demonstration.

– VitAg fertilizer.
Commercial and residential lawn care session:
– Residential wetting agent demonstration.
– Native plants for landscape.

– Spreader calibration demonstration.
– Weed management for West Texas.
– “Ask the Expert” question and answer session.
