AMARILLO – “Empowering Those We Help: Building Trust and Credibility” is the title of the next military caregiving professional development webinar set for 10 a.m. Aug. 19.
This is one of the monthly webinars offered through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Military Program.
The webinars provide professional development and interactive resources for end users who may not be able to leave their homes for training, said Andy Crocker, co-principal investigator and AgriLife Extension gerontology and health program specialist in Amarillo.
The free event is open to all who may be interested, Crocker said. The Military Families Learning Network will offer one continuing education credit from the National Association of Social Workers. Also, certificates of completion will be available for service providers.
The session will provide an overview of strategies for professionals who serve as effective resources for families. The focus will be on how military service professionals can facilitate effective problem solving and other activities with families through collaborative approaches.
“Participants will increase their knowledge of key characteristics of helping professionals and factors involved in the establishment of credibility and trust for empowering military families,” said Rachel Brauner, co-principal investigator and program coordinator with AgriLife Extension’s Military Program in College Station.
