ROBERT LEE – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct the Coke County 1-D-1 Ag Appraisal Workshop on Dec. 7 in the Commissioners Courtroom located in the Coke County Courthouse, 13 E.7th St., Robert Lee.
The workshop starts with registration at 8:30 a.m. followed by the program from 9-11 a.m., said Morgan Runyan, AgriLife Extension agent in Coke County.
“This program is to help educate landowners on the option of obtaining a wildlife tax exemption on their property,” Runyan said. “Our goal is to outline the requirements of this particular exemption for those wanting to remove livestock entirely to allow their pastures to recover from the years of drought we’ve recently experienced.”
Runyan said Dr. John Tomecek, AgriLife Extension wildlife specialist at San Angelo, will be the keynote speaker.
Individual registration is $10 and will include breakfast.
Those planning to attend should RSVP by calling the AgriLife Extension office in Coke County by Dec. 4 at 325-453-2461.
