MULESHOE – The Bailey County Feed Grains Conference is slated from 8:30 a.m. to noon March 4 at the Bailey County Electric Co-Op, located at 610 E. American Blvd. in Muleshoe.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service program should be of prime interest to area farmers, said Curtis Preston, the agency’s Bailey County agent.
“The conference will target grain sorghum, sorghum silage and sunflowers, with Dr. Calvin Trostle, AgriLife Extension agronomist at Lubbock, as the day’s presenter,” said Preston. “His topics will include hybrid selection, weed management, irrigation management and other production issues important to our area.”
Individual registration is $10 due upon arrival. Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be offered.
