WEATHERFORD – “Your Money, Your Goals” is a train-the-trainer workshop to be conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Parker County.
The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at the AgriLife Extension office, 604 N. Main St., Weatherford. The program will include a catered lunch.
Registration is due by Aug. 26. To register, call the AgriLife Extension office at 817-598-6168.
Kathy Smith, AgriLife Extension family and consumer sciences agent for Parker County, will be the instructor.
Smith said the program will serve as a “toolkit” to help front-line staff and volunteers as they work with customers to:
– Make spending decisions that can help reach their goals.
– Decide if they need a checking account and understand what they need to open one.
– Order and correct credit reports.
– Avoid tricks and traps as they choose financial products.
– Make decisions about repaying debts and taking on new debt.
There will be a $10 fee, payable in advance or at the door, with another $10 added for those who need professional units. Checks or money orders should be made payable to AgriLife Extension FCS and can be mailed to Parker County Extension Service, 604 N. Main St., Suite 200, Weatherford, TX 76086.
