MONAHANS – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Ward, Winkler and Loving counties will conduct the Bi-County Ranch Field Day from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in Monahans.
The field day will begin and end at the Bentley 4-H Center, 3176 S. Stockton Ave.
“The program will be 100 percent in the field with no Powerpoint presentations or slideshows,” said Dena Floyd, AgriLife Extension agent for Winkler and Loving counties.
Caleb Eaton, AgriLife Extension agent in Ward County, said the field day would include tours of four ranches in Ward and Winkler counties.
“We look forward to highlighting the demonstration and conservation work local ranchers have conducted in partnership with AgriLife Extension and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service,” he said. “We’ve had a good year, so there’ll be plenty to see.”
Tour topics will include Reversing the Decline of Quail, Catclaw and Greasewood Management, Range Monitoring, Cowherd Nutrition Tools and Prickly Pear Management.
Two general Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be offered.
Individual registration is $10. Registration deadline is Oct. 21. Lunch will be provided and sponsored by the Upper Pecos Soil and Water Conservation District No. 213.
To register and for more information, contact Eaton at 432-943-2682, cleaton@ag.tamu.edu or Floyd at 432-586-2593, dena.floyd@ag.tamu.edu .
