Topics and speakers include:
– Forage Management in East Texas – Dr. Vanessa Corriher-Olson, AgriLife Extension forage specialist, Overton.
– Aquatic Weed Control Management Updates – Dr. Billy Higginbotham, AgriLife Extension wildlife and fisheries specialist, Overton.
– External Parasite Control on Beef Cattle – Dr. Jason Banta, AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist, Overton.
– Pasture Weed Control Updates – Darren Rozell, Rozell Sprayer Manufacturing, Tyler.
– Biological Control Options for Insects – Erfan Vafaie, AgriLife Extension integrated pest management program specialist, Overton.
– Pesticide License Management – Randy Reeves, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent, Gregg County.
“Licensed applicators need 15 continuing education units every five years to maintain their license, so it’s important to attend these events when possible,” Reeves said. “We look at it like applicators just need an average of three units per year to do this. Get out and go to two or three of these AgriLife Extension events and you’re done.”
