SAN ANTONIO – David Rodriguez, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service horticulturist, Bexar County, will present two Earth-Kind seminars – one in February and one in March — at Milberger’s Nursery, 3920 N. Loop 1604 East, San Antonio.
Both seminars are free and open to the public.
“These seminars will emphasize Earth-Kind gardening principles, which incorporate the best of traditional and organic gardening practices,” Rodriguez said. “We’ll look at gardening principles that involve less chemical and water use to produce top-quality ornamentals and vegetables.”
The first will be the Spring Clean Up seminar from 10:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 25.
“In this seminar, attendees will learn best practices for preparing their spring garden, including proper pruning, mulching and fertilization,” Rodriguez said.
The second seminar, The Best Spring Vegetable Garden Ever, will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon March 11.
“This seminar will focus specifically on vegetable gardening and how to choose the best vegetable varieties for your garden as well as soil preparation, fertilizing, and insect and disease control,” Rodriguez said.
He said attendees to these seminars should bring a notebook as there will be a lot of information for them to remember.
