LUBBOCK Texas Cooperative Extension will offer two regional workshops for 4-H shooting sports leaders and coaches in West Texas in 2006.
The first is slated Jan. 6-8 at the Texas A&M University System Agricultural Research and Extension Center at Amarillo, 6500 West Amarillo Blvd.
The second is set for April 28-30 at the Texas A&M University System Agricultural Research and Extension Center at Lubbock, one-half mile east of Interstate Highway 27 on FM 1294.
The workshops will cover archery, pistol, rifle, reloading, shotgun, black powder shooting and instruction for coordinating a local shooting sports program.
In addition, participants can choose one extra study course in archery, program coordination, pistol, rifle or shotgun, said Brad Davis, Extension 4-H youth specialist based at Lubbock.
The registration deadline for is Dec. 9 for the Amarillo workshop, and March 31 for the Lubbock event. Registration forms and information are available at county Extension offices or by calling Davis at (806) 746-6101.
