BOERNE An upcoming conference in Boerne will help people tap into harvesting rainwater for indoor and outdoor use, according to Texas Cooperative Extension organizers.
The conference will be Sept. 25 at the Boerne Convention and Community Center, 820 Adler Road. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the program from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Rainwater harvesting directly benefits our communities,” said Bruce Lesikar, Extension agricultural engineer and conference organizer. “Rainwater harvesting reduces demand on the water supply and reduces run-off. Slowing run-off helps to reduce the quantity of contaminants that enter our streams and rivers.”
Conference topics include rainwater harvesting components, in-home rainwater use, rainfall patterns, sanitation, landscape, and operation and maintenance.
