SAN SABA – The Texas AgriLife Extension Service offices in Burnet, Llano and San Saba counties will conduct a drought workshop at 8 a.m. May 3 at the San Saba Community Center located in Mill Pond Park on the east side of town.
Five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units – one laws and regulations, one integrated pest management and three general- will be available for private, commercial and non-commercial pesticide applicators.
The program’s topics will include herbicide product updates from Gerald Hobson of DuPont and Eric Thorson of Dow Chemical Company; brush control with fire-wise awareness, Jan Fulkerson, Texas Forest Service; and Brush Sculpting for Wildlife in Uncertain Times, Dr. Dale Rollins, AgriLife Extension wildlife specialist, San Angelo.
There will also be presentations on pesticide applicator laws and regulation and integrated pest management principles.
Individual preregistration is $30 by April 29 and $35 thereafter. Preregistration is requested for meal-count purposes.
