MARION – A multi-county Beef Cattle Field Day presented by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service will be held from 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. on May 6 at the Bexar Bowling Social Hall, 15681 Bexar Bowling Road in Marion.
The field day will begin with registration from 8:30-9 a.m., which includes coffee and donuts, followed by a welcome and introduction from Bryan Davis, AgriLife Extension agent for agriculture and natural resources in Bexar County.
“The program will be an opportunity for producers and others involved in the beef cattle industry to get lots of useful, practical information on cattle management,” Davis said.
The morning’s presentation topics will include pesticide laws and regulations, predator control and beef cattle nutrition and marketing. A lunch break will follow from 12:15-12:45 p.m., then a presentation from 12:45-2 p.m. on brush management. A question-and-answer session and program evaluation from 2-2:30 p.m. will conclude the day’s program.
Four continuing education units – 1.5 in laws and regulations, 0.5 in integrated pest management and two general – will be available to attendees.
Program registration is $20. Checks should be made payable to Bexar Agricultural Committee and mailed to Beef Cattle Field Day, 3355 Cherry Ridge Dr., Suite 212, San Antonio, TX 78230.
