BROWNWOOD – The Heart of Texas Cow/Calf Clinic, a long-standing annual event conducted by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, is set for 6 p.m. May 31 in the Brown County Fairground’s Home Economics Building.
The fairgrounds are located on U.S. Highway 377 South in Brownwood.
“The focus of this program is to update producers on what’s going on in the beef cattle business,” said Scott Anderson, AgriLife Extension agent in Brown County. “One topic I think will be of major interest is the changing world of cattle vaccines. Vaccines have changed recently and some are still changing. Vaccine companies are merging and it’s hard to keep it all straight. This program will clear up quite a bit of the confusion for producers of what to use and when to use it.”
Dr. Floron “Buddy” Faries, AgriLife Extension state veterinarian at College Station, will be the keynote speaker. He is slated to present a beef herd health calendar and offer management tips on doing the right thing at the right time.
Individual registration is $10. A barbecue meal is included.
