SAN ANGELO – The Texas Agrilife Extension Service office in Tom Green County will conduct a landscape drought management class from 9 a.m.-noon June 25 at the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center.
The center is about six miles north of San Angelo at 7887 North U.S. Highway 87.
Allison Watkins, AgriLife Extension horticulturist in Tom Green County, said the goal of the class is to teach homeowners how to keep their landscape looking good while reducing water use and lowering water bills as much as possible.
“The lack of water is always a concern out here in West Texas, but the current drought and high temperatures are causing even more issues than normal,” Watkins said. “The class will feature topics including irrigation efficiency, drip irrigation, making and using compost and mulch and using plant materials from the Texas Tough plant selection.”
Individual registration is $10 payable upon arrival.
