DALHART – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Dallam and Hartley counties will conduct “Saving Water Makes Sense – Making Every Drop Count” on April 17 in the Rita Blanca Coliseum, 219 Farm-to-Market Road 281 in Dalhart.
The program, from 5:30-7 p.m., will feature Dr. Joyce Cavanagh, AgriLife Extension family development and resource specialist in College Station, speaking on research-based water conservation practices in and around the home.
“A typical household uses approximately 260 gallons of water every day,” said Kay Rogers, AgriLife Extension family and consumer sciences agent in Dallam and Hartley counties. “You can reduce this amount and save money by using water more efficiently. Please join us to learn how.”
Rogers said with less than 1 percent of all the water on Earth suitable for human consumption, communities across the country are starting to face challenges in maintaining healthy and affordable water supplies.
“That’s why it’s more important than ever to use our water wisely and not waste it,” she said.
The event is hosted jointly by the AgriLife Extension Education Clubs of Dallam and Hartley counties.
