WHO: About 75 youth from Travis County and Central Texas, 4-H adult leaders, statewide personnel from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Texas Military 4-H Program.
WHAT: The Texas 4-H Military Sports Fishing Camp, presented by AgriLife Extension’s Texas Military 4-H Programs and Operation: Military Kids.
WHEN: From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 30.
WHERE: Austin White Lime Company (owner’s property), 14001 McNeil Road, Round Rock.
WHY: Through a network of national, state and local collaborators, Operation: Military Kids provides access to youth programs and support services in communities where military children live. At the Texas 4-H Military Sports Fishing Camp, youth learn the basics of fishing, including pole construction, fishing techniques, safety, environmental issues and more. The camp provides an opportunity for kids from military families to mingle and share their experiences as members of military families in a fun and wholesome environment.
