HARPER — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices in Gillespie, Kimble and Kerr counties will host a Texas Department of Agriculture private applicator license training and testing beginning at 8 a.m. May 21 at the Harper Community Park Building.
The park is located between N. Park Street and Pioneer Park Street in Harper.
Program registration will begin at 8 a.m. with training starting at 8:20 am. Lunch will be provided by Behrends Feed and Supply of Harper and is included in the registration cost. The program will conclude about 4 p.m.
The cost is $50, which covers materials training, testing and lunch.
“Attendees need to stop by their county AgriLife Extension office to pay for and pick up their review guides and study materials,” said Sam Silvers, AgriLife Extension county agent for Kimble County. “It is recommended that they do this several days in advance to allow time to prepare. Also, this may be the last time the training and testing will be done in combination, so you’ll want to take advantage of this opportunity.”
He said training and testing will allow producers to buy and use restricted use herbicides on property they operate.
To pick up and pay for materials, go to one of the following AgriLife Extension offices:
— Kimble County, Kimble County Courthouse, Junction.
— Kerr County, 3655 Highway 27 East, Kerrville.
— Gillespie County, 95 Frederick Rd, Fredericksburg.
