UVALDE — Commercial tomato farmers are encouraged to attend a workshop June 18 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Uvalde, located at 1619 Garner Field Road.
The free event will be from 9 a.m. until noon.
Dr. Kevin Crosby, a Texas A&M AgriLife Research horticulturist from College Station, said topics will include production aspects for small to large producers, disease and pest control, protected culture, breeding new cultivars at Texas A&M University, and fruit quality and marketing.
A tour of the field trial of commercial and experimental cultivars at the center and ataste test of new Texas A&M and commercial tomatoes will conclude the event.
