MONAHANS – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct the Permian Basin Oil and Gas Stewardship Conference from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Ward County Convention Center, 400 E. St. in Monahans.
The AgriLife Extension offices conducting the conference are from Ward, Andrews and Ector counties.
“Last year’s conference was a huge success,” said Caleb Eaton, AgriLife Extension agent in Ward County. “We received so much positive feedback stemming from that program that we decided to offer a second version this summer.
“The conference is open to all ranchers, landowners and folks involved with the oil and gas industry,” he said. “We’ve included topics that should be of interest to all those involved in land stewardship as it relates to the oil and gas industry.”
The scheduled keynote speaker is Brooks Landgraf of Odessa, state representative-elect for the 81stdistrict.
The conference topics will include Reseeding and Weed Control, Negotiating Oil and Gas Leases, Trespassing and Theft Prevention, Hydraulic Fracturing and Recycled Water and Texas Water Law.
Individual preregistration, which includes lunch, is $25. RSVP by July 31 by calling the AgriLife Extension office in Ward County at 432-943-2682.
Eaton said the conference also includes a trade show targeting vendors who serve ranchers, landowners and the oil and gas industry. Vendor space is limited, he said, and potential vendors should contact the AgriLife Extension office in Ward County for more information and current availability.
