BURNET – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct the Central Texas Brush Control Workshop June 23 at the Burnet County Fair and Rodeo Grounds in Burnet.
Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by the program scheduled from 1-4 p.m. Individual registration is $10 due upon arrival. For more information contact Wade Hibler, AgriLife Extension agent in Burnet County, at 512-756-5463, wadehibler@tamu.edu .
Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units-one laws and regulations, one integrated pest management and one general-will be available for private, commercial or non-commercial pesticide applicators.
Topics and speakers will include:
– New Chemical/Technology Updates for Brush Control, David Stichler, DuPont field representative, San Antonio.
– Chemical Updates from Dow AgroSciences, Haley Baumgardner, Dow AgroSciences representative, Georgetown.
The workshop will conclude with the webinar, Is Our Water Clean? Keeping Herbicides Out of Our Streams.The webinar will discuss the importance of water quality, how improper pesticide use can impair water quality and an update on nutrient-related regulations.
