DICKENS – Chase Witt will begin his new position with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Aug. 18 as the agriculture and natural resources agent for Dickens County, according to Miles Dabovich, AgriLife Extension district administrator in Vernon.
“We are excited to bring Chase aboard to the Rolling Plains team,” Dabovich said. “His background and college experiences will be an asset to the Dickens County program.
“Chase completed his internship this summer in Wilbarger County, and I’m confident that he fully experienced who we are and what we do,” Dabovich said. “He has a strong passion for agriculture and youth, and that makes him a great fit for Dickens County.”
Witt is a native of Burkburnett and a recent graduate of Tarleton State University in Stephenville. He previously attended Murray State College. At both locations, he worked on swine and cattle operations and assisted with hay harvest and general maintenance as a farm hand.
“I have always found happiness in helping and assisting people within my county and community. I also have a strong passion to help youth in the showing aspect of agriculture.” he said. “I look forward to working with the producers and youth in Dickens County.”
Witt was a member of the FFA livestock judging team in high school and also at Murray State College, where he spent three years judging across the U.S. on the collegiate team.
