SEGUIN — The Guadalupe County Master Gardeners will present a brown bag learning lunch from noon-1:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Seguin Public Library, 707 E. College in Seguin.
The program is free and open to the public.
The Master Gardener program is an educational and volunteer horticulture program of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, part of the Texas A&M University System.
Nancy Masterson, a Guadalupe County Master Gardener and member of the Guadalupe Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas, will present on native plants.
“The program is called NICE: Natives Instead of Common Exotics,” Masterson said. “Attendees will learn how to save money, save water and save the natural legacy of our beautiful state. Fall is a great time to add new plants to the landscape and some native plants put on their best show in autumn.”
She added that during the program she will be recommending plants with outstanding blooms and berries for the area.
Attendees are welcome to bring lunch, she said, and free handouts on native plants will be distributed.
