LEAKEY — A Texas Hill Country Range Management Workshop will be held July 10 in Leakey.
The workshop will be from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Frio Springs Lodges, 692 Evergreen St.
Registration will be from 9-9:30 a.m. with presentations to follow.
The program is being presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Real County and the Uvalde County Farm Bureau, said Laci Bostic, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Real County.
Topics and speakers at the workshop will be:
— Beef Cattle Management in the Texas Hill Country, Ray Langford, Uvalde County Farm Bureau director, Uvalde.
— Sheep and Goat Management in the Texas Hill Country, Dr. Reid Redden, AgriLife Extension state sheep and goat specialist, San Angelo.
— Chemical Applications on Texas Hill Country Brush Species, Dr. Robert Lyons, AgriLife Extension range specialist, Uvalde.
— Prescribed Fire in the Texas Hill Country, Dr. Morgan Russell, AgriLife Extension range specialist, San Angelo.
Lunch will be provided by the Uvalde County Farm Bureau and is included in the $5 registration fee.
Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units — one general, one safety and one in drift minimization — will be offered for those with private pesticide applicators licenses.
