DALLAS – A program titled “Rain Garden and Retention/Detention Pond Design and Performance in North Texas” will be presented July 22 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Dallas.
The free program will be from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Building C meeting room of the center, located at 17360 Coit Road.
Target audiences include engineers, planners, landscape architects, contractors, stormwater professionals and interested individuals, said Dr. Fouad Jaber, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agricultural engineering specialist and program presenter.
“During this program attendees will learn about the design, installation and benefits of rain garden and bioretention systems and retention ponds in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex,” Jaber said.
Registration will be from 8:30-9 a.m. Presentations will be from 9-11:45 a.m., followed by a walking tour of green infrastructure demonstrations at the center, including demonstration rain gardens and an ecologically engineered stormwater retention pond.
Continuing education credits for professional engineers and a certificate of attendance are available.
