HASKELL – The Rolling Plains Ag Conference is set for Jan. 19 in the Haskell Civic Center, 200 S. Ave. B, Haskell. The program is being presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices in Haskell, Jones and Knox counties.
The program will begin with registration at 8 a.m. and conclude shortly after 4 p.m. There will be a $20 registration fee, which includes lunch. RSVP by Jan. 13 to the AgriLife Extension office in Haskell County, 940-864-2658; Jones County, 325-823-2432; or Knox County, 940-459-2651.
Attendees can earn five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units – one integrated pest management, one drift, one laws and regulations, and two general.

– Area Cotton Variety RACE Trial Results, Dr. Gaylon Morgan, AgriLife Extension state cotton specialist, College Station.
– Fertility With Crop Rotation in Cotton, Sesame, Sunflowers and Milo, Dr. Emi Kimura, AgriLife Extension agronomist, Vernon.
– Resistant Weeds, Residual Herbicides and Drift Minimization, Morgan.
– USDA Comments, Shawn Ferguson, U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency county executive director, Haskell.
– Integrated Pest Management and the Sugarcane Aphid, Dr. Pat Porter, AgriLife Extension entomologist, Lubbock.
– Economic Outlook and Budgets for Cotton, Sesame, Milo and Sunflowers, Stan Bevers AgriLife Extension economist, Vernon.
– Laws and Regulations, Paul Weiser, Texas Department of Agriculture inspector.
