WHEELOCK – The Pond and Aquatic Vegetation Field Day is scheduled from 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 22 at the Wheelock Bloodworth Community Center in Wheelock.
The community center is located at 12403 South Farm-to-Market Road 46. The program is hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
Cost is $40 and limited to the first 100 who pre-pay by April 15. Registration includes handouts and a fried catfish lunch prepared onsite. To RSVP, call the AgriLife Extension office in Brazos County at 979-823-0129 or in Robertson County at 979-828-4270.
Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units, two general and one laws and regulations will be offered.
Dr. Todd Sink, AgriLife Extension aquaculture and fisheries specialist, College Station, will be the featured speaker. Topics will include water quality, clearing muddy ponds, pond management, stocking and fisheries management, aquatic vegetation identification and management, and aquatic vegetation laws and regulations.
