AUSTIN – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Travis County Master Gardeners will present the All About Roses program Feb. 4 at Zilker Botanical Garden, 2220 Barton Springs Road in Austin.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
Daphne Richards, AgriLife Extension agent for horticulture in Travis County, said attendees will learn how to incorporate user-friendly roses in their new or existing gardens.
“The program will be presented by Travis County Master Gardener Cher Coleman, who has 30 years of experience in the use of roses in a landscape,” Richards said. “She will teach the methods for proper selection of rose varieties as well as site preparation and maintenance, including pruning, pest control and fertilization.”
Richards said the program will be helpful for both novice and experienced gardeners, and questions are encouraged.
