MARSHALL – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer a “last-chance” course Feb. 27 in Marshall for pesticide applicator continuing education units.
The course will be from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office for Harrison County, 102 W. Houston St.
Eight Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available including four general, two integrated pest management, one laws and regulations, and one drift minimization.
Matt Garrett, AgriLife Extension agent in Harrison County, said the event is just in time for applicators with the Feb. 28 deadline for five-year licenses, or a good opportunity for license holders to earn more than half of the necessary units needed to maintain a license.
The course will include four instruction videos, Garrett said.
“If you’re going to take a day away from work for continuing education units, this event will give you the most bang for the buck,” he said.
Cost is $25 and includes lunch. Organizers request RSVP by Feb. 24 by calling 903-935-8413.
