SAN ANTONIO – The Texas AgrAbility and Battleground to Breaking Ground Project are hosting a free farm tour and workshop June 2-3 geared toward veterans, beginning farmers and ranchers, individuals with disabilities and those starting in an agriculture business.
The tour and workshop will be at the K Bar M Ranch, 7903 Pittman Road in Adkins. The June 2 farm tour and networking event will be from 5-8 p.m. The June 3 workshop will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The workshop will feature sessions on agricultural business start-up, business plan development, possibilities for farming/ranching with a disability, financial funding sources for farming/ranching, marketing and resources to support agricultural business operations.
“Texas AgrAbility focuses on connecting, assisting and empowering agricultural producers, their family members and employees with disabilities and chronic health conditions to stay engaged in production agriculture,” said Erin Pilosi-Kimbrough, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service coordinator for family and community health, College Station.
The program was developed with input from AgriLife Extension, AgrAbility, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service, the National Farmer Veteran Coalition, Farm Service Agency, USDA Risk Management and Texas Department of Agriculture.
