Liz Moore, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent in Randall County, said the four-part series is designed to concentrate each month on a topic of value to homeowners.

This month Dr. Bill Welch, AgriLife Extension landscape horticulturist in College Station, will offer attendees landscape tips.

“This is a great opportunity for homeowners wanting to learn the basics of landscape design or begin the process of improving their own yard,” Moore said.

Registration is $12 and requested by July 18. The meeting will be at the AgriLife Extension office at 200 N. Brown Road, Canyon.

The same program will be offered at noon and again at 6:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided at the noon programs and dessert and coffee at the evening programs.

Those planning to attend should sign up by contacting the AgriLife Extension office for Randall County at 806-468-5543 or email Moore at

The final meeting in the series will be Aug. 22 with Brian Scott, Texas A&M Forest Service staff forester in Canyon, presenting Trees and Tree Issues. Sign up is requested by Aug. 15.

Sponsors of the series include Canyon Chiropractic, Lady Bug Termite and Pest Services, Pro Chem Sales and Irwin Greenhouses.
