MIAMI – An Estate Planning and Ag Leasing Conference will be hosted Dec. 12 by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Roberts County.

The conference will be from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Courthouse Annex in Miami. RSVP is requested by Dec. 8 to 806-868-3191 or mcwilkes@ag.tamu.edu. Registration is $10 and seating is limited to the first 30 registered.

“We have a lot of landowners in our county who want more information as they deal with the future of their land,” said Michael Wilkes, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Roberts County. “We have a dynamic speaker coming to answer many of their questions.”

Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist in Amarillo and writer of the award-winning Texas Agriculture Law blog, will discuss the importance of having an estate plan and written leases, as well as landowner liability.

Lashmet’s blog can be found at https://agrilife.org/texasaglaw/home/.

A catered lunch will be provided by Capital Farm Credit.
