BIG SPRING – The Permian Basin Cotton Conference, a multi-county event conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, is set from 8 a.m.-noon March 1 at the G.C. Broughton Jr. Ag Complex, Big Spring.
The complex is located on the Howard College campus at 2411 Echols Drive.
Counties involved with the conference and accompanying trade show include Howard, Martin, Midland, Glasscock, Reagan and Upton.
Individual registration is $10 by Feb. 26 and $20 thereafter. The fee will include a special agriculture appreciation luncheon, which will conclude the day’s activities. “One of the featured talks will be an auxin-specific herbicide presentation by Dr. Gaylon Morgan, AgriLife Extension state cotton specialist at College Station,” Yeater said. “The talk will be in accordance with new EPA application requirements for those using the new formulations of dicamba including Xtendimax, FeXapan and Engenia.”
Yeater said the auxin training is required for all applicators including licensed applicators and unlicensed applicators spraying under a licensed applicator. More information on the requirements can be found at https://agrilife.org/texasrowcrops/current-news/ .
Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be offered.
