Sign-in registration for the expo will be from 7:15-8 a.m. with presentations to follow. The program will conclude around 3 p.m. and lunch is included.
The cost for the program is $10 and the deadline to register is 4 p.m. July 11. Registration is available online at https://williamson.agrilife.org/program-registration/ or by calling the AgriLife Extension office in Williamson County at 512-943-3300.
“We get a lot of questions about the value of land and what people should be paying for agricultural leases, especially with the worry of urban encroachment,” said Tyler Coufal, AgriLife Extension agent for agriculture and natural resources, Williamson County. “The idea behind this program is to help landowners better understand their responsibility as far as stewardship, laws and regulations, and valuing property.”
Coufal said the program will address topics and issues known to be of interest to area landowners. Presentations and speakers will be:
— Land Stewardship and Ethics, Dr Barron Rector, AgriLife Extension range specialist, College Station.
— Prescribed Burning, Dr. Morgan Russell, AgriLife Extension range specialist, San Angelo.
— Agricultural Leases, Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist, Amarillo.
— Land Value, Dr. Erin Hardin, Texas A&M Real Estate Center research economist, College Station.
— Eminent Domain, Luke Ellis of Mars, Ellis and Hodge LLC, Austin.
The program is limited to the first 50 registrants, so attendees are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
Program sponsors include Kokel-Oberrender-Wood Appraisal, Ltd., TEXAG Real Estate Services, Williamson County Farm Bureau, Kleensite and Capital Farm Credit.
